The inaugural ‘International Greyhound Services Limited’ sales takes place at Sheffield’s Owlerton stadium on Monday 17th March 2025. Gates will open at 9am with trials set to commence at approximately 10am. The action will hot up upon completion with the auction set to take place at the track approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the final trial and with so many quality performers pencilled in to showcase their ability it promises to be an action-packed day. Refreshments will be available throughout the day from the quality Owlerton stadium food and drink outlets and though bidding as usual is available from home what better way to spend St Patricks day than running your eye over trials in person at the track.
The catalogue as usual is previewed by one of the sports leading experts Mark Pierrepont and here he takes you through each and everyone of the lots available –
MAGICAL BOSS – Not a single mark on the card of this August 2023 dog pup by Crokers Samba out of Dream Queen who is a well proven producer of open class. Her pups usually see out at least a strong running four bend trip and even further so stamina shouldn’t be an issue for this exciting youngster who will have wanted for absolutely nothing during the rearing and schooling stages with Team Guilfoyle.
MAGICAL SAMBA – Full brother to ‘Boss’ detailed above and this stunning white and blue dog has been showcasing plenty of ability to the team back home and no surprise to see him moving well come sales day at Sheffield.
HOFFA EPIC – Lightly raced June 2023 bitch by Coolavanny Hoffa and from the maiden litter of Epic Lady who of course hails from the Jaytee Sahara dam line. Hoffa Epic is already a race winner showing super early pace to land a 400 yard affair at Dundalk in 2168. Will stay further as demonstrated by a nice 2919 trial effort at Shelbourne Park recently and looks like she’d be well suited to the likes of sales venue Sheffield where he early and middle gears will prove extremely useful.
UNA MARY – Just the two moderate trials so far on the card of this July 2023 daughter of Ballymac Wild and Una Maachina but very much likely to improve massively in the weeks and months to come. Sure to make into a solid grader for new connections here in the UK.
MUSTANG MILE – Very lightly raced May 2023 son of Mustang Jet out of Mustang Markle who is yet to get off the mark but with just three career races under his belt can do nothing but improve for quite sometime to come. Showed sensational early and middle pace in a decent mid grade race at Clonmel at the end of January and shouldn’t be too long at all before he gets his nose in front. Will strengthen up over the spring and summer months but maybe at this stage he’ll be one for sprint and shorter four bend trips. Dam Markle has produced plenty of open and high grade sorts in her previous litters and every reason to believe that this lad will more than hold his own at a decent level.
MUSTANG SHARK – Full brother to Mile detailed above and a very similar sort. Again this lad has pace to burn and though yet to get his nose in front it looks only a matter of time before he does so. Hugely pacey sort and once he sorts his trapping out will be posting a very flashy run.
BALLINABOLA MOLY – September 2023 bitch by Confident Rankin out of Ballinabola Mia who was a regular winner on the track in her own right and since retiring to the breeding paddocks has been producing plenty of high grade and open class types. Moly will prove to be a very useful addition to any graded kennel where she is fully expected to quickly move through the grades here in the UK.
DUSTY DINNY – Really promising April 2023 son of Crossfield Dusty and Enable who has ran out a comfortable winner of the only two trials on his card posting 1920 and 2891 respectively around Limerick. Dam Enable is well proven in the breeding paddocks counting many open and competition class performers amongst her offspring including the likes of All About Ted who famously reached the Irish Greyhound Derby Final in 2021. Dinny looks destined for the open class scene here in the UK and a big run is expected on sales day.
FASTNET FANTASY – Unraced August 2023 daughter of Ballymac Cashout and Fastnet Ace whose maiden litter to Dorotas Wildcat produced some nice high grade and open class types. Moderate enough trials to date but did break the 30 second barrier in both of her 525 yard trials to date with runs of 2993 and 2989 around Dundalk and Mullingar respectively. Will grade in nicely here in the UK and will quickly move through the graded system.
EASY NANCY – The ‘Easy’ prefix of Barry Rocks needs no introduction where it is particularly well known and respected at sales venue Sheffield. The prefix has become synomonous with quality and success in equal measure and Easy Nancy very much looks like another who will be burning it up in high quality affairs soon. Just the sole trial on the card of this October 2023 bitch where she comfortably beat off her sole rival by fully 8 lengths in 2920 around Shelbourne Park. That kind of run from such a raw youngster marks her out as an open class prospect of that there is little doubt.
GOOD HERMES – Hailing from the hugely well regarded Kennedy team this unraced May 2023 dog pup arrives at Sheffield sale without a mark on his card. By Ballyhimikin Jet out of Charming Pet who reached open class on the track and this her maiden litter are already showing huge promise on the track. Full sister Approved Star has already won four times at sales venue Sheffield making top grade and open class whilst another sister Lennies Dream is 3 from 3 on Irish soil with sensational victories coming at Kilkenny , Cork and most recently Shelbourne Park. A super prospect and will be high up on the lists of all those looking to add a talented unraced bitch to their kennels.
GOOD GOOD GOOD – Stunning unraced June 2023 dog pup by Ballyhimkin Jet out of Billys Diva the superstar bitch who famously landed the English Oaks back in 2021. Has been producing some fantastic offspring of her own since retiring to the breeding paddocks including Chelms Wild and Makeit Mead both open class winners around English Derby venue Towcester. This lad has been showcasing plenty of pace to the team back home during the rearing and schooling stages and it will be interesting to see how he takes to Sheffield on sales day.
ROMANTIC DANO (ex – Tromora Dano) – August 2023 youngster who will be winning some nice races here in the UK. Got his career up and running at the very first time of asking posting 2967 when winning at Tralee back in November and though winless in three efforts since then showed himself in great form with a 2900 trial around Cork last week.
STEADY UP BOB – Green as a grass in what was so far the only competitive start on the card of this August 2023 son of Pestana out of Ballymac Moira. Dam Moira hails from the Ballymac Sasha dam line and has thrown plenty of nice types in her litters to date. Difficult to say where this lad will end up as there is so much more to come and his on the day trial will be informative.
ECO BUZZ – Not a mark on the card of this November 2023 son of Ballymac Cashout and Siobhans Rocket but if the jungle drums are anything to go by this lad is a member of a litter who have been showcasing supreme promise for quite some time at the renowned establishment of Shane O’Gorman. The team back home would be one of the shrewdest around and well know a quality litter when they see one so their word has to be respected. On the day trial will be of great interest but sure to be attracting much in the way of interest.
POSH SCART – October 2023 son of Callaway Pro Am out of Cardi Duke who was a strong running performer on the track and memorably landed the Redzer Ardfert Novice 750 Stake Final at Tralee back in 2021. Duke’s maiden litter to Pat C Sabbath included some decent performers including open class winner Whisky Trader. Not a single mark on the card of this well bred and exceptionally reared youngster hailing from the Shane O’Gorman camp.
SOME NAME THAT – September 2023 youngster with very little done and despite stumbling at the traps till posted 1929 Shelbourne Park in what is thus far the only mark on his card. A son of Dromana Bucko out of Good Woman this lad is bred to be pacey and the reports from the shrewd Brendan Matthews team suggest he is exactly that. Won’t be seen at his best for sometime to come but will be high up on the lists of all those seeking to add a quality youngster to their kennels for the year ahead.
JAB AND RUN – Superbly well bred youngster who was given the winter months off to grow into his substantial 79lb frame. A son of Pestana out of the open class producing dam Million Dreams and hailing from the set up of the ‘Newry Maestro’ Brendan Matthews there will be many looking to end the day with this lad in their kennels. Trialled last week around Shelbourne Park in 1905 but make no mistake there is chunks to come off that and he is heading to open class of that there is no doubt. Million Dreams is already responsible for the likes of Merits Inclusion who ran up in the Kirby Final of 2024.
BALLINDERRY LUNA – Unraced November 2023 bitch pup from the Signet Ace x Love Queen litter. Impeccably reared and schooled by the Sean Conway team she looks an exciting prospect and the word from home is that she’s been showcasing an extremely likeable attitude to her work. Interesting type.
BALLINDERRY FAYE – Raw young bitch pup from the Conway team this December 2023 daughter of Dromana Bucko is from the maiden litter of Droopys Timing who was a top open class bitch on the track and closely related to many top competition performers including half sister Skywalker Cilla the Thurles Champion Bitch Stake Champion of 2021 and winner of the Irish Derby Consolation Final in the same year. Faye isn’t just one for her initial track career but all those with a shrewd eye on quality breeding will no doubt have her marked down as a prospective brood of the future.
TOTALLY COOL – March 2023 youngster who has shown promise in two competitive starts around Shelbourne Park and really highlighted her potential with a 2909 trial around the same venue early this month. A strapping 70lb bitch she hails from the Groupie Doll dam line which has produced the likes of Droopys Clue and Fidget in recent times. Litter sister Typhoon Tracey has already made the step up to six bends and ran out a super winner of her 750 yard stake semi final at Shelbourne last week in a super 4235 which was some 4 lengths faster than the other semi won by Airmount Sky. Another sister Champys Girl has already landed a maiden open around Towcester over four bends and has since landed opens over both six and eight bends around Romford. A big run expected on sales day from this lady and looks one for the open class scene over six bends as the year progresses.
DORKING WANDERER – Unraced April 2023 dog pup by Romeo Magico out of Newinn Nifty who was a regular winner on the open class scene in Ireland and hailing from the Newinn Expert dam line counts many superstars of the sport amongst her close compatriots including the sensational Irish Derby Champion of 2020 Newinn Taylor. Wanderer has just the sole spring trial on his card coming at Waterford where this 79lb youngster showed all of his understandable in experience but make no mistake he is much better than that showing and his schooling trials since have shown him in a much better light. Expected to be competing at a high level here in the UK and will be a very nice addition to whichever kennel he ends up at the end of sales day.
SPORTING VENUS – Jerry Griffin is a much respected name on both sides of the Irish sea and for that reason alone any pup arriving at the sales with his famous ‘Sporting’ prefix will draw attention. Venus arrives at Sheffield without a mark on her card and this September 2023 daughter of Ballyhimikin Jet and Sporting Riviera is expected to put up a good show. Riviera was a strong running four and six bend open class performer memorably finishing runner up in the final of the Munster Oaks around Waterford in 2019. Top grade and open class pups have become a regularity since becoming a brood with her responsible for performers like Sporting Chile regular UK open race winner including 2899 at Towcester when setting what was then a new track record back in May 2022. Venus has undoubted track potential but may also interest those looking for a brood further down the line.
SPORTING BOOGIE – Another highly promising unraced youngster from the Jerry Griffin academy this time a September 2023 bitch by Coolavanny Hoffa out of Sporting Faith who produced the likes of Ravenswell Aero a Monmore open race winner to Droopys Sydney in her maiden litter. A stunning blue lady with immense promise there will be keen eyes on her sales day trial with a view to potentially adding her to their kennels especially after she recorded a very impressive calculated 2894 at Tralee just this week.
REDEMPTION SONG – Just an October 2023 pup who made the best possible start to his career with a wide margin success at Waterford in 2916. Overcame a missed break to soon pace up from a poor draw out wide making the bend in front and pulling further clear with every stride. A really promising effort from this son of Malachi out of Pennylane Sheba who was a strong running open class performer on the track and it could well be with age that this lad might just get a little further than four bends himself.
NO WOMAN – Full sister to Redemption Song detailed above without a mark on her card. Sales day trial will be informative but word from the kennel back home is that this is a promising sort with a bright future.
MAGICAL LYRA – Not a mark on the card of this September 2023 daughter of Ballymac Cashout and Burgess Sarah but hailing from the Guilfoyle team it’s fairly obvious she’ll have wanted for absolutely nothing until this stage of her development. If the breeding sounds familiar that should come as no surprise for dam Sarah is a well proven producer of open and competition class performers including Daleroad Duke the current Tralee track record holder courtesy of that scintillating 2792 effort back in December 2023 and of course more recently emerging victorious in the final of the Boylesports Champion Stakes at Shelbourne Park in 2024. Magical Camilla was a member of an earlier litter she was sold at the Towcester sale back in 2022 before embarking on a stella career here in the UK including landing the prestigious Angel Of The North at Newcastle in 2023. The breeding lines very much suggest a career at the top for this young lady both on the track and quite likely as a brood in her own right further down the line.
MAGICAL BE BRAVE – Full sister to Lyra detailed above who has just the sole trial on her card around Kilkenny. Green as grass that day posting 3048 and massive improvement expected over the next few runs. Trial likely to be extremely informative.
GOOD BRODY – A super unraced prospect from the Kennedy team this June 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet out of 2021 English Oaks Champion Billys Diva. Not a trial on the card but reports from back home suggest this is a youngster who will play a leading role in whichever kennel he ends up throughout the year ahead and beyond.
SECRET TREASURE – Another from the Kennedy team this time an unraced September 2023 bitch pup by Dromana Bucko out of Good Woman who had just a short track career spanning just 5 races but even in that time competed at top grade and open class level. Sales day trial will be of interest but the Kennedy team regular supply quality pups to the UK market and no reason to believe this lady will be any different.
POSH LAS – October 2023 bitch pup by Callaway Pro Am out of Facile Vega. This bitch has been reared and schooled to perfection thus far and has been showcasing great promise to the shrewd Shane O’Gorman team back home in Ireland. They know a decent pup when they see one and the word is that this lady will be winning plenty here in the UK for new connections.

BALLINABOLA ROSA – September 2023 daughter of Deerjet Sydney and Ballinabola Rum who did everything wrong on second career start at Enniscorthy but somehow managed to circumnavigate the field and win cosily in a decent time of 2940. It was a strong running effort from this nicely bred bitch which bodes well for her future career here in the UK. Rum has thrown some nice types previously including Ballinabola Jim multiple big race winner in Ireland including landing the Yvonne Barry Open 600 yard Final around Shelbourne Park in September 2024 and later that year reached the semi final of the Irish Derby. Nice type for both the track and the breeding paddocks further down the line.
BALLINABOLA LILY – September 2023 daughter of Confident Rankin and Ballinabola Mia who has shown moderate enough form in her two career starts to date but did clock 2964 around Shelbourne in the second of those so definitely has ability and time is still very much on her side.
LADYS MAN – Unraced July 2023 daughter of Ballymac Wild and Una Maachina who has won both trials on her card in 3030 and 1826 at Tralee over the four and two bend trips respectively. Solid looking grader with all the hard work done and likely to prove a useful addition to any graded kennel where she should quickly progress through the grades.
BETWEENTHE LINES – June 2023 bitch pup by Broadstrand Bono and Meenagh Miracle who was top class on the track landing the Cesarewitch around Mullingar in 2020 and famously finishing runner up in the Irish Derby in the same year. Has since established herself as a top class brood and though Betweenthe lines is yet to win in three career starts she’s shown enough to suggest that victory shouldn’t be too far away.
BOILUPDABACON – Unraced July 2023 son of King Elvis and Laid Back Eske who looks one for the graded system here in the UK with all the hard work of rearing and schooling complete.
CRIKEY – Strapping 85lb pup who is a product of the mating between Grangeview Ten and Tibet who has produced countless open and competition class performers including 2021 English Puppy Derby Champion Make Noise. Lots to like about this raw youngster who ran out a wide margin winner of just the second trial of his life clocking 2937 around Cork. Falls firmly into the ‘could be anything’ category.
BIT VIEW BELLA – Lightly raced in Ireland but already a two time race winner including a best yet of 2922 at Cork when landing a touch last time out. Led all the way on that occasion and that kind early pace will see her well capable of landing the money early on in her new career here in the UK and with her being just a May 2023 whelp there is plenty left to come.
INSPIRAL – April 2023 daughter of Malachi out of Friendly who was beaten just half a length in 2948 on career debut at Cork. Looks like making into a solid addition to any graded kennel here in the UK.
TOOMUCHCHAT – You can ‘talkthetalk’ or ‘walkthewalk’ and it’s with unnerving regularity that the shrewd Sean Conway establishment time and time again churn out quality well bred and extremely well reared pups ready to compete at the highest levels throughout their sporting careers. Toomuchchat often gets you nowhere but that could very well be much different in the case of this unraced January 2024 baby by Grangeview Ten out of Cockyorconfident who was an open class performer on the track in her own right but it’s since retiring to the breeding paddocks she has really set the greyhound world alight. Producing open and competition class performers with regularity including Crafty Kokoro the sensational Corn Cuchulainn Champion of 2022 and finalist in the Irish Derby of the same year amongst many others. Toomuchchat has been talked about amongst those in the know for quite some time as being a pup of immense promise but don’t forget his age as he’s a youngster who will need time to strengthen up and if given that time looks a top prospect for later in the year. Won’t be coming cheaply that’s for certain but if you’re a serious buyer looking for a serious pup then he will be very high up on your lists.
CLOVERHILL WILD – Unraced September 2023 dog pup by Dorotas Wildcat out of Lodgefield Emily who was a top grade and open class performer on the track and hailing from the fabulous Droopys Saab dam line must have every chance of producing top quality pups of her own. Rearing has gone perfectly and he’s reported to have improved for every schooling trial he’s had over the past weeks. Another quality prospect for the UK scene from the Conway team.
EASY TEXAS – Nice prospect this October 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet and Gaytime Nina who as with all products of the Barry Rocks academy will arrive with his new connections in top condition and fully able and ready to embark on his UK sporting career. Nina is a full sister to 2023 English Derby Champion Gaytime Nemo and this her maiden litter have been showing sensational promise for quite some time. Likely to have many admirers and his sales trial will be eagerly anticipated.
MARINAS BUBBLE – August 2023 son of Lotus Striker with just the two races under his belt so far in Ireland. Moderate form to date but young enough to improve and should grade in at a handy level.
BALLINDERRY BUCK – Unraced November 2023 son of Signet Ace from the maiden litter of Love Queen who is a full sister to Swords Maestro the Irish open race star who reached the final of the Juvenile Classic at Tralee back in 2021. Real nice type in the making and again hailing from the Conway team his new connections can expect a well reared and schooled individual all set to make his mark and stand up to the rigours of competitive sport here in the UK.
MR FITBIT – Not a mark on the card of this September 2023 dog pup by Grangeview Ten out of Skywalker Bonnie who being a daughter of the famed brood Bigmans Grainne is closely related to many of the sports most recent superstars including the likes of half brother Ice On Fire. Well regarded by the McCusker team back home and looks one that many will be keen to take home come the end of sales day.
DROOPYS DRIBBLE – Super unraced prospect from the famed Droopys establishment this son of Ballyhimikin Jet out of Droopys Gifted looks sure to prove popular. The maiden litter of Gifted included Droopys Shakira who clocked 2850 around Dundalk in just the fourth race of her life.
DROOPYS ACADEMY – Another top prospect from the Droopys team this time an October 2023 youngster by Droopys Sydney out of Droopys Sweet who hails from the Droopys Hilda dam line so therefore counts many of the sports recent superstars amongst her close relations. Droopys Addition , Droopys Buick and Roman Empire all hail from the same dam as Sweet she really does have the most impeccable of bloodlines and it should be no surprise at all if that continues with this litter. They’ve certainly been showing all the right signs to the Dunphy team and there will be many in attendance at the track on sales day and at home bidding online that will be keen to add this one to their kennels.
BOOKIES DREAM – April 2023 bitch pup by Signet Ace out of Getawaywithit who was a top open stayer on the track and being a daughter of Precious Story is closely related to many top class performers including full brother De Machine the 2021 Irish Champion Stakes Winner. This young lady is already showing all the hall marks of making into a top class stayer herself and in the only trial currently on her card posted 2922 around Shelbourne Park. Another highly promising type from the Matthews team.
DEVISTA – March 2023 youngster by Pestana out of Million Dreams so the breeding obviously speaks for itself. Bred and reared at the home of champions with the Brendan Matthews team in Newry this lad has pace to burn and being a wide seed will be much sought after. Capable of some huge runs he’s fully expected to put up a nice run on sales day and is a likely candidate for all those who like their money in front. Talented performer.
