International Greyhound Services Ltd head to Romford Greyhound Stadium on Thursday 16th July 2026 for what looks a particularly interesting daytime sale.
Gates open at 11.30am, with the pre-sale trials commencing at 12.30pm. Food and drink will be available throughout the day, while the auction will commence approximately 30 minutes after completion of the final trial.
The catalogue brings together a fascinating mix of completely unexposed youngsters, lightly raced prospects and others who have already begun to show a serious level of ability. Just as importantly, the strength in depth of the vendors is there for all to see, with greyhounds arriving from some of the most respected breeding, rearing and schooling establishments in Ireland.
There is British-bred interest too, and those prospects naturally carry added attraction for buyers looking towards the valuable programme of British-bred competitions available in the UK, subject of course to the individual conditions of each event.

Stonepark Holly is one of two youngsters supplied by Mike ‘Stonepark’ O’Dwyer, a man who consistently sends young greyhounds of great potential to the sales and whose stock can be relied upon to have been reared and schooled to a high standard.
There is plenty to like here. An eye-catching 18.84 Shelbourne trial sits on the card and immediately commands attention, while the pedigree offers further encouragement. Dam Ballyverry Sarah is already well proven, counting the likes of Antigua Kestrel, the strong-running four and six-bend open racer, amongst her offspring.
That combination of a promising sprint trial, a proven producing dam and a respected source makes Stonepark Holly a very interesting opening lot.
LOT 2 – CAPITAL FLO

Capital Flo is a full brother to Lot 1 and the second youngster supplied by Mike ‘Stonepark’ O’Dwyer, whose reputation for bringing forward well-reared and well-schooled young greyhounds should give prospective buyers plenty of confidence.
Unlike his sister, there is not a mark on his card, so Romford will provide the first real public guide to what he can do. The family credentials are nevertheless strong, with Ballyverry Sarah already having demonstrated her ability to produce quality.
Completely unexposed and coming from a source that gives its youngsters every opportunity to fulfil their potential, Capital Flo is one whose sales trial should tell us plenty.
LOT 3 – PARADISE CLOVER

Paradise Clover is one of four lots supplied by Jamie McGee, and that is a family name long renowned for being able to do a dog. Buyers know that stock coming through such hands deserves serious consideration.
She has raced just three times, winning one of those starts in 29.16 at Enniscorthy, while her latest 28.91 Shelbourne trial is particularly eye-catching and suggests she is progressing very nicely indeed.
Lightly raced, already a winner and now showing a good level of pace in trial company, Paradise Clover is a very interesting young bitch with plenty of scope still to come.
LOT 4 – MAGICAL MAX

Magical Max is another supplied by Jamie McGee, a source whose family reputation for preparing a greyhound is firmly established.
This fellow arrives as a proven sprint open performer and landed a Dundalk 400 final in mid-June in 21.34. That is proper evidence of pace and, for me, his profile looks particularly attractive for the venue at which he is being sold.
A ready-made performer with speed already proven over a sharp trip, Magical Max looks tailor-made for Romford and should be of obvious interest to buyers seeking a greyhound capable of getting straight down to business. A pre-sales warm up trial in Shelbourne Park on Saturday produced a 28.99 return.
LOT 5 – CRAFTY BOYO

Crafty Boyo is one of four greyhounds supplied by Jim O’Brien of Tommys Kennels. Jim’s sales greyhounds can often go under the radar, but they are certainly not without a touch of class and can at times represent very good value to the buyer. This is a set-up that brings its greyhounds to sell and deserves close attention.
This February 2025 youngster has raced just twice and is yet to win, but he has shown a degree of promise and remains at a very early stage of his career.
With experience likely to bring him forward and a respected team behind his preparation, Crafty Boyo is the kind of young dog buyers should assess carefully rather than simply judge on the bare race record.
LOT 6 – TOMMYS PICTURE

Tommys Picture is another from Jim O’Brien’s Tommys Kennels, a source whose youngsters can sometimes be overlooked by the market despite regularly possessing plenty of ability.
He has taken a major step forward in his qualifying work, improving from 29.48 to 29.08 at Cork, but it is the manner of that improvement which makes him particularly interesting. He has shown great early pace, recording a 3.30 split and 16.35 sectional to halfway.
That profile looks made for a sharp circuit and I would expect Romford to suit this dog particularly well. He is a very interesting young prospect from a kennel whose sales lots can represent real value.
LOT 7 – DA BRAKE

Da Brake is one of the lots hailing from the esteemed set-up of the Newry Maestro Brendan Matthews, a man whose reputation for producing, rearing and schooling quality young greyhounds needs little introduction.
He is already a proven performer and has a decent 28.91 Limerick win on the card. There is plenty to like about the way he is heading, with early and middle gears very much part of his make-up.
A young dog with ability already demonstrated, representing one of the most respected sources in the business and with the kind of pace profile that should translate well to the UK, Da Brake is a very interesting proposition.
LOT 8 – SMALL FUN

There is not a mark on her card, but the breeding is there for all to see. Completely unexposed in public and arriving from a team renowned for the quality of its young stock, she gives buyers the opportunity to assess a genuine blank canvas.
Young, well bred and prepared in expert hands, Small Fun is one whose Romford sales trial could prove particularly revealing.
LOT 9 – BALLYMAC ZODIAC

Ballymac Zodiac is one of four young bitches sent directly to our track sales for the first time by the famed Ballymac Kennels team in Tralee, headed by Liam Dowling. We are delighted to have them, and I am sure the many potential buyers keen to add a well-bred, expertly reared and schooled Ballymac youngster to their kennels will feel exactly the same.
She is out of Ballymac Vida, an open-class bitch who hails from the Yahoo Perlena dam line. Her only four-bend trial is a moderate 30.63 at Tralee, but there is every reason to believe the sharper test provided by Romford may prove more suitable. This is backed up by a more than handy 17.68 trial over the 325y trip at Tralee just last week.
The Ballymac quartet were due to undertake sprint work last week before the warm weather led to the cancellation of those plans. These are raw young bitches from one of the most famous establishments in the sport and it would be foolish to place any ceiling on what they may become.
LOT 10 – BALLYMAC ABIA

Ballymac Abia is a full sister to Lot 9 and another of the four young ladies sent directly from Liam Dowling’s famed Ballymac Kennels in Tralee.
She went a fair bit quicker than her sister in her first 525y trial recording 30.25 at Tralee and then followed that up with a smart 17.59 over 325y last week at the same venue.
The sharp Romford trip may prove much more suitable to this litter. As a beautifully bred March 2025 bitch from one of the sport’s most celebrated establishments, Abia also carries obvious longer-term attraction once her eventual racing career is complete.
LOT 11 – APPROACHING DAWN

Approaching Dawn is one of four youngsters sent by the hugely well-respected Kennedy team. Buyers need little reminding of the calibre of this family operation, with the Kennedy team of course responsible for breeding the recent Paul Hennessy-trained, Lee Craze-owned English Derby champion Lennies Eddie.
There is no public form on this young lady’s card, but the pedigree immediately catches the eye. Dam Epic Angel is an unraced daughter of Billys Diva, bringing top-class blood close up in the family.
Completely unexposed, from a highly respected source and carrying a female line with genuine quality behind it, Approaching Dawn has plenty to recommend her both for the immediate racing future and potentially much further down the line.

Rosstemple Vivo is a very lightly raced youngster who has showcased super early pace in his races to date.
There is a strong argument that the 525-yard trip is simply too far, yet despite that he has still put a decent 29.28 Cork on the card. The bare finishing positions therefore do not tell the whole story.
For me, his profile looks particularly interesting for this sale. The sharp Romford 400m could play far more to his strengths, allowing that early pace to become a major weapon, and he could be one for sharper four-bend and possibly sprint distances.
LOT 16 – KILSHENANE BLUE

Kilshenane Blue comes to Romford fresh from a low-grade sprint success at Clonmel, showing early pace to score in 16.57 over 300 yards.
That proven speed should stand him in good stead and he looks the type who could be well suited to the Romford graded scene.
For buyers seeking a greyhound with winning form already on the card and a profile suited to a sharp circuit, he makes plenty of appeal and could prove a very useful acquisition.

There is not a single mark on this youngster’s card, but the breeding makes for very interesting reading.
Dam Beaming Scarlet was a strong-running open-class winner who reached the final of the Irish Cesarewitch in 2022, bringing genuine high-class staying ability close up in the pedigree.
Still only a May 2025 youngster and completely unexposed in public, Milltown Stef has a great deal of time on her side. As a young bitch from such a family there is also an obvious longer-term dimension to her appeal.

Still right at the beginning of her career, Milltown Goldie offers buyers a blank canvas on the track, while as a young, well-bred bitch there is also potential longer-term value once her racing days are eventually complete.

This unraced April 2025 youngster looks an outstanding prospect for the open scene, with Romford appearing an ideal venue at which to showcase her talents. Her 17.79 trial at Lifford catches the eye in no uncertain terms and points towards a young bitch possessing a serious degree of pace. She followed this up with an all the way winning trial in Derry over 500y stopping the clock in 28.62, however she did all her work early on.
Dam Jumeirah Liberty was a stunning open-class performer in her own right, while her offspring have already been showcasing plenty of pace. A December 2024 youngster with that level of ability already on the card, coming from a kennel whose sales greyhounds can sometimes be underestimated by the market, Tommys Amber could prove one of the particularly interesting prospects in the catalogue.

Heading that list is Knockeen Dazzler, the brilliant winner of the 2024 Con & Annie Kirby Memorial, one of the most prestigious competitions in Irish greyhound racing.

There looks to be precious little between the quartet at this stage of their careers, although Pyramid may just be slightly ahead of her three kennel companions at present, with a 30.14 Tralee trial on the card and a smart 17.63 just last week at the same venue.
These are still very raw youngsters and it would be dangerous to place any kind of ceiling on what they could eventually become. The planned sprint work was lost to the warm weather, so their Romford trials take on added interest.
For me, the sharp 400m Romford trip could suit this litter particularly well, and Pyramid looks a fascinating young bitch from one of the most famous kennels in the world.
LOT 34 – BALLYMAC ALTA

Ballymac Alta is a full sister to Lot 33 and another of the four young ladies making the journey from the famed Ballymac Kennels in Tralee.
She has 30.28 and 17.90 Tralee trials on the card and, while that leaves her fractionally behind Pyramid on the bare clock, there really does appear to be very little between these four Ballymac bitches.
All remain at a very early point in their development and each has the potential to progress significantly. The sharper nature of Romford looks likely to play to the strengths of this litter and it would be no surprise to see one or more take a notable step forward.
A beautifully bred young bitch with superb connections and a largely unexposed profile, Ballymac Alta could yet be anything.
