A delay to the Sale Trials at Hove on Monday 28th September was well worth the wait! A bowser issue created a 40 minutes delay, however Nathan Corden reported a record sale for International Greyhound Services.
“It was definitely worth the wait as we recorded a turnover of a little over £146,000 and I was delighted to see that nearly two-thirds of the greyhounds sold will remain at Hove and a whopping 80% will remain with Entain trainers. A big thank you to the large crowd who attended the sale and it is always a warm and friendly welcome from both customers and staff at Hove.”
Fastest of the day was Consolidation, a talented January 25 son of Drumantine out of Ma Mac making him a full brother to the new staying sensation Stitched Pockets. Already boasting a sparkling 28.38 Shelbourne Park time, the striking blue dog quickly took up the running to win his trial by a large margin, stopping the clock in 29.39 and was bought for the Belinda Green kennels for a solid £15,600.
Next most valuable greyhound was the black and white bitch Good Lola. She enjoyed a solo trial and stopped the clock in a very smart 29.48. Sold for £14,600 to the DCT Syndicate (headed by David Titterton/Christopher Ball/Terry Protheroe) and will join Monmore trainer Chris Jones.
Other notable sales included Lunar Dash, sold to the Nathan Hunt kennels for £10,700; Barnfield Jack, sold for £8500 into the Jason Heath kennels; Crossfield Lucas, sold for £8100 and joins Julie Luckhurst and Droopys Efective, sold for £7900 joining the Dave Lee kennels.
