International Greyhound Services head to Star Pelaw on Thursday 17th April 2025 for our North East Sale.  Gates will open to the public at 9am with trials set to get underway at 10am and the subsequent auction set to take place throughout the afternoon with a start anticipated for approximately 30 minutes after completion of the final trial.  An excellent breakfast will be available ahead of the day’s action and food and drink outlets open for service throughout the day.  There are a wide variety of greyhounds set to be available to suit all budgets and the catalogue as usual is previewed in full by Mark Pierrepont –

BRYNOFFA FLASH – Just two races on the card of this May 2023 son of Confident Rankin out of Roxholme Poppy.  One of the leading six bend superstars in recent history Poppy landed the Yorkshire St Leger back in 2018 at Doncaster and the following year emerged successful in the George Ing St Leger at Yarmouth setting new track record figures in both her semi final and the final itself.  Since retiring Poppy has produced plenty of top grade and open class types in her litters and Flash looks another promising youngster.  A best time yet of 2958 around Waterford should be improved upon massively over the coming months and that should see him competing in the higher grades here in the UK as a minimum.

BRYNOFFA ROCCO – Full brother to Flash detailed above and similarly Rocco has just the two races on his card.  A little ahead of his sibling at this stage with a best of 2937 he’s another promising type who looks set for a career in the high grades at least.

ROMANTIC MADAM (EX – NOELLES HANAKO) – Very lightly raced August 2023 daughter of Good Cody out of Noelles Camino who was a 2890 Galway winner in her own right and has since produced some decent strong running open class sorts in her litters to date.  Being a daughter of the competition class producing dam Noelles Swiftco that should come as little surprise.  Swiftco produced the likes of Aayamza Dream who won many opens over six bends both here in the UK and Ireland and memorably finished runner up behind superstar bitch Salacres Pippy in the 2021 running of the Hunt Cup Final at Towcester.  Camino is also a full sister to Coolavanny Lilly who reached the final of the George Ing St Leger at Yarmouth in 2021.  Madam looks like making into a decent type and may well be suited by tracks with a stiff four bend distance at a minimum and could well come into her own once stepped up in trip once fully matured. A 2961 trial win in Cork on 11 April confirms that this lady is a solid performer.

BEAUTYS HOPE – Unraced May 2023 bitch by Blades Of Hope out of Crescent Maid.  Coursing bred lady who weighed in at a whopping 73lb for the only trial on her card in which she ran out a 2 length winner at Clonmel in 1714.

HUGO BE SLICK – Unraced August 2023 son of Ballymac Anton out of Shes Ordinary who was a top-grade winner on the track and since retiring to the breeding paddocks has been producing plenty of top grade and open class types.  Slick has just the sole four bend trial on his card posting a decent 2966 around Enniscorthy.  Looks like making a nice type and with all the hard work complete he looks sure to be making his mark here in the UK before too long.

JENNY BE SLICK – Full unraced sister to Hugo detailed above and had her brothers measure by fully 3 lengths in that aforementioned four bend trial around Enniscorthy.  Posting 2945 she’s sure to be competing in decent class here in the UK.

DROOPYS PLAYGIRL – Just a January 2024 baby who hailing from the famed Droopys establishment will have been reared and schooled to perfection.  A stunning blue lady by Droopys Sydney out of Droopys Dancer who was a strong running four and six bend open racer on the track but it’s since retiring to the breeding paddocks where she’s really come into her own.  Already responsible for the likes of superstar Droopys Kathleen The Gourmet Island Puppy Oaks Champion of 2024 who set a sensational Shelbourne Park track record of 2758 in the semi final of that event as well as Droopys Smiley who reached the final of the Bet365 Puppy Oaks at Towcester in December of last year.  This January 2024 litter is a repeat mating to the aforementioned so no doubting that this bitch is not only a high class track prospect but will be in equal demand by breeders with more than an eye on the future.

DROOPYS RIHANNA – Unraced and not a mark on the card of this September 2023 bitch pup by Signet Ace out of Droopys Ant who was a top class performer on the track memorably reaching the Christmas Oaks Final at Shelbourne Park and landing the Southern Oaks Final around Youghal in 2018.  Since retiring to the breeding paddocks however Ant has produced countless open and competition class performers including the likes of Bubbly Bollinger who landed the RPGTV Derby Plate Final back in 2021.

OLWINN AGAIN – Very lightly raced September 2023 son of Lenson Bocko the 2019 Irish Derby Champion out of Jumeirah Zena who won opens on the track here in the UK around Sheffield and Monmore and has since proven herself as a brood of the highest class.  Counting the likes of Central Park and Romford open race winner Easy Player amongst her offspring it’s highly likely that Olwinn Again will attract many an envious eye on sales day.

LIGHTFOOT TINA – February 2023 daughter of Ice On Fire who is yet to get off the mark in Ireland but has shown a nice touch of early pace on a few occasions.  Shorter four bend trip and a tight track such as sales venue Star Pelaw should suit and a fresh start could see her finding improvement. Her most recent form is a 2967 trial at Mullingar on 11 April.

BALLYHIMIKIN EVE – Stunning unraced white and blue bitch by Good Cody out of the open class producing dam Ballyhimkin Hun.  An April 2023 whelp without a mark on her card she’s sure to be popular on looks and breeding alone.  Again her on the day trial will be very informative.

BALLYHIMIKIN IVY – Full unraced sister to Eve detailed above with this young lady having just the sole sprint trial on her card in which she posted 1731 around Kilkenny.

NEILLS KNOCK – Unraced September 2023 son of Tullig Raven from the maiden litter of Springhill Dynmo who hails from the top-class brood Dolcino Rose.  Neills Knock won a trial on his card by a couple of lengths in 3015 around Waterford with litter brother Savana Grandad already a three-time winner around Oxford.  Sure to make into a real nice grader here in the UK and sure to be on the winners podium for new connections in the not too distant future. He improved in his 2nd trial, on 10 April, winning by 6 lengths in 2965 around Waterford.

SALTEES KAYLA – Unraced full sister to Neills Knock who also won a four bend trial on her card by a couple of lengths at Waterford in a time of 3044.  Likely to make into a real solid little grader with her whole career ahead of her.

DYNO BLUEBELLE – Unraced July 2023 daughter of Malachi out of Watch Out Girl who has produced some high-grade winners in her litters thus far.  Bluebelle has two winning trials on her card when clocking 2980 and 2988 around Cork with the most recent being 11 April.

DYNO JAZZ – Unraced September 2023 bitch by Dromana Bucko out of Ballycowen Jazz who was a strong runner on the track with good form over both four and six bends.  Maiden litter to Ballymac Anton won a few nice races including Ballycowen Lil who regularly in high grade at Swindon over four bends and won in top grade company at the same venue over the sprint trip.  Just the two trials on her card in which she was beaten off by Dyno Bluebelle both times at Cork.  Could be closer on sales day so an interesting match up.

EASY ROSIE – June 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet out of Beaming Rosie who herself was top open class on the track and is a full sister to the sensational Swanley Chick who reached the Irish Oaks Final back in 2020.  Rosie has just six races on the card and already has two wins to her name.  Showcasing a nice touch of early pace in all of her races she should be well at home around the likes of Star Pelaw and looks just the type to land her new connections a couple of decent touches early in her career here in the UK.

EASY LIZ – Another February 2024 whelp from the Barry Rocks team who time after time provide quality pups to the UK market.  Liz is a product of the mating between Orchestrate and the maiden litter of Russmur Liz who won opens on the track around Oxford and Swindon and is a full sister to Westside Frank who reached the Bar One Spring Cup Final at Dundalk in 2022.  Easy Liz is a pup who has been showing plenty of pace on the home gallops but it won’t be until the summer months and beyond that we really see what she’s made of.

BALLYNADRUCKILLY – Lightly raced May 2023 son of Explosive Boy who is already a race winner on Irish soil clocking 2973 in a wide margin Thurles success.  Nice touch of early pace and should pay his way on the UK graded scene.

BRACKILE KACIE – September 2022 daughter of Blastoff Jet out of Nodgos Pet who being a daughter of Blastoff Fizz is closely related to some real nice open and competition class performers.  Only a moderate level of form shown in Kacie’s 4 career races to date but should pay her way on the graded scene over sprint and short four bend trips.

WALLY BE SLICK – Another of the August 2023 pups from the Ballymac Anton litter out of Shes Ordinary.  The dam has previously produced high grade and open class types and likely that there are a few of similar ability amongst this latest crop.  Wally is unraced and will come on bundles for what was very much an educational first ever four bend trial of 3070 around Galway.

MAYFLOWER SIENNA – November 2022 son of Ballymac Cashout who is already a four-time winner on Irish soil.  Most recent victory came in top grade A1 company around Waterford in February.  Strong runner who will compete at a decent level at any track here in the UK.  Will stay any four-bend distance in the country and might just land a decent race over one of the short six bend trips available over here. She still managed to record 2930 at the tough Enniscorthy circuit in her most recent race on 10 April despite being crowded and bumped at the 1st bend.

BRYNOFFA BENSON – November 2022 son of Roxholme Hat who is yet to score in four career races to date but did show a good deal of early and middle pace when leading for a long way over 525 yards at Waterford late in December and despite finding the trip a little on the tough side still managed to record a decent 2935.  Sharp four bend trips here in the UK should be perfect.

BRYNOFFA TAYTO – Just two races on the card of this May 2023 dog pup from the Confident Rankin x Roxholme Poppy litter and a perfect start with two facile early pace always led victories in 2996 and subsequently a much-improved 2940 around Waterford.  Looks like making into a real nice type here in the UK and his undoubted early pace should serve him well.

IN THE BUNKER – Full sister to Peppa detailed above and followed up an initial 3052 qualifying trial at Thurles with a very much improved 2929 effort around Limerick when beating off her sole rival by 2 lengths.

SPEEDY PEPPA – Unraced August 2023 daughter of Ballymac Bolger from the maiden litter of On The Green who herself is a daughter of the fabulous Coolavanny Chick.  Peppa has been displaying a good degree of promise during her early schooling trials and backed that up in the first and thus far only official qualifying trial over four bends with a run of 2943 around Limerick.  Nice type who should go on to land some fair races here in the UK.

CALS STORM – Stunning blue and white son of Coolavanny Hoffa out of Cals Talent who was a pacey open class winner on the track and has produced one or two nice types since retirement of her own including Cals Flair who has won opens over two , four and short six bend trips.  Storm is a a winner of two of his six career races to date with victories coming around Derry and Lifford in 1687 and 1782 respectively.  Should be well suited to sales venue Star Pelaw.

CALS TUNE – Full sister to Storm detailed above and has the stunning blue and white colours of her brother to match.  Not yet won in four races but has shown plenty enough pace to suggest she should more than pay her way on the UK graded scene and similarly to her sibling should be well suited to the sharper sprint and four bend trips.

ADESANYA – May 2023 son of Explosive Boy out of Gentle Trend who is well proven as a brood counting the likes of UK open race star Farneys Trend a winner of many good class opens over both two and four bends here in the UK over the past few years.  Just six races on the card of Adesanya and already a race winner showcasing super early to lead all the way at Cork recently in 2911 and also on 11 April when winning a 550y race in 3049.

TROMORA PUMA – Unraced September 2023 daughter of Ballymac Cashout and Tromora Rocket who competed in open class on the track and being a daughter of Ballymac Cameo is closely related to many high-class types but maybe none more so than the fabulous Ballymac Ariel.  Puma has a 2973 trial on the card at Limerick and will arrive with new connections fit and ready to get straight into action.

TELEX FIRE – Another member of the Ballymac Anton litter and Shes Ordinary litter of August 2023 and this unraced lady has already highlighted her potential with a 2972 qualifying trial around Waterford.

ASHWOOD SEAN – This April 2023 son of Pestana out of Love Honey who hails from the famed Kildallon Maid dam line which has produced countless top-class performers over the years.  Sean will see out any four bend trip in the UK with ease and demonstrated his super middle and finishing pace when landing a decent race at Waterford back in December in 2916.

BARNFIELD DUKE (EX – GLENGAR CHESTER) – Lightly raced July 2023 son of Doolin Duke from a proven dam in the shape of View Doolin.  Duke is already a two-time race winner with victories coming at Youghal and Cork in 2921 and 1780 respectively.  Pacey greyhound who looks the ideal type for connections looking to land a nice touch or two in the early stages of his UK career.

SPORTING SAPHIRE – February 2023 daughter of Malachi out of Sporting Riviera who has helped along countless youngsters during their schooling careers thus far but now the time is right for Saphire to showcase her talents in her own right.  Will compete at a decent level on the graded scene as highlighted by a recent 2943 effort around Tralee.

EASY CASHOUT – An absolute raw youngster a mere February 2024 whelp with the whole of his career ahead of him.  Hailing from the esteemed Barry Rocks academy this son of Ballymac Cashout and Jumeirah Liberty is reported to have been showing great promise during rearing and schooling and maybe that should come as little surprise given that Liberty who won some decent opens up in the North East around Newcastle has since gone on to prove herself as a producer of decent offspring in the breeding paddocks.  Given his age and likelihood of huge progression over the coming year Easy Cashout looks like being one of the most popular lots of the day.

EASY OZ – Full sister to Easy Liz and therefore another of the Orchestrate x Russmur Liz litter of February 2024 litter.  Sales day trial will be informative but reports from the Barry Rocks team are that this is a young lady with a very bright future.

RETURN PACKAGE – September 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet out of Tell On Jessie who is a half-sister to the likes of Newinn Sheedy the 2020 Juvenile Finalist at Shelbourne Park.  Return Package got his career off to a flying start on debut in February with an early pace always led victory around Clonmel in 2927.  Not quite gone to plan in three races since but a fresh start here in the UK should see him taking off and could well develop into a real nice type and run up a sequence in the process. Unlucky in his latest race on 11 April in Cork when 3rd by a little under 2 lengths after being baulked at the 1st bend.

CONFIDENT RUBEN – Very lightly raced June 2023 son of Skywalker Barry and Clohur Abigail.  This litter are already beginning to win races and surely only a matter of time before Ruben adds to that with three educational races now under his belt.

BEAMING DIAMOND – Unraced August 2023 daughter of Doolin Duke and Beaming Scarlet who was a regular winner in high grade at Hove and competed over six bends at the track in open class.  Won both of her qualifying trials to date with a 2211 at Dundalk over 400 yards followed up at the same venue with a run of 2965 over the 525-yard trip.

GRACES PRIDE – October 2022 son of Broadstrand Bono who has demonstrated winning ability off both the front and from the back of the pack.  Came from way back to win two decent mid-grade affairs at Enniscorthy in September last year in times of 2913 and 2924 and then showcased he can do it from the front too with an A3 victory at Waterford in October.  Solid grader who knows his job.

SKIDROW LUNA – Unraced September 2023 bitch from the Tullig Raven and Springhill Dynmo litter of September 2023.  This young bitch can only improve for months to come she’s been lightly schooled to date but still managed a smart 2965 in her latest trial at Waterford on 10 April.

RELUCTANT DEB – Unraced September 2023 bitch by Ballymac Bolger out of Droopys Missy who is a well proven producer of high grade and open class offspring.  Sales trial will be informative to the extreme.

DROOPYS ANTHEA – Unraced and not a mark on the card of this January 2024 daughter of King Sheeran and Cielo who finished runner up in the Cork Oaks Final of 2022 and produced a few nice types in her maiden litter to Malachi including Cazador a 2979 open race winner at Shelbourne Park over the 550-yard trip.  Reared and schooled to the high standards one would expect from the Droopys team this young lady is of great interest both as a track performer in the shorter to medium term but likely as a brood further down the line.

DROOPYS PRETTY – Another exciting prospect from Team Droopys this time an unraced January 2024 daughter of Droopys Sydney and Droopys Dancer making her a full sister to Droopys Playgirl who appears earlier on the sales card.  Dancer as mentioned earlier is now well proven as a dam counting the likes of superstar puppy performers Droopys Kathleen and Smiley amongst her progeny.  Plenty of eyes will be attracted to this girls promise both for the track but undoubtedly her breeding potential.

MAGICAL LADY – Unraced October 2023 daughter of King Sheeran and Magical Mary who was a super strong running open class performer on the track over both four and six bends and reached the final of the Irish Cesarewitch at Mullingar in 2023.  This is Mary’s maiden litter but word from back home is that they’ve been showing good promise and the sole 3068 trial of Lady around Limerick can confidently be expected to be improved upon hugely over the coming weeks.

MAGICAL BE BOLD – September 2023 bitch by Ballymac Cashout out of Burgess Sarah who consistently produces top open and competition class offspring.  Counting the likes of Daleroad Duke the sensational 2024 Boylesports Champion Stakes Winner amongst her offspring this is a line that time and time again throws up champions.  Just the sole race on the card of Magical Be Bold in which she ran out a super winner around Tralee in 2880.  Likely to be one of the most popular lots of the day this lady will be in high demand both for her immediate and obvious track potential but also her brood prospects further along the line.

WONDERFUL DOLCE – July 2022 daughter of Droopys Sydney out of the hugely proven dam Dolce Vita mother of the likes of Antigua Sugar , Table Toppers and Tullovin Vita to name just a few.  Dolce showed up well for a long way in a novice open final at Waterford last year clocking 2923 in what was only the second race of her life.  Form patchy with just a couple of runs since then but there is without doubt pace within this lady and might just prove a project well worth taking on as if finding the key to this lady there could very well be some nice races to be won.  Blood lines suggest breeding success if far from improbable either.

WONDERFUL JO – March 2022 daughter of Good News who is an experienced sort with three wins to her name the best of which came when recording 2916 around Enniscorthy.  Solid grader with a nice touch of early and ready to get straight into action for new connections.
