The first sale of 2026 was worth waiting for after the original date of 28th January was postponed by 7 days due to Storm Chandra.
A very busy Sheffield on a cold morning saw brisk action in the ring and a very respectable turnover of £102,000 from a catalogue littered with withdrawals.
Top lot on the day was Droopys Vicar (Coolavanny Hoffa x Droopys Filly) who clocked a very impressive 28.18 for the 480m for just a September 24 puppy. He was sold for £10,200 and will now join Maxine Locke at Romford.
Fastest of the day over 500m was Goldstar Michael, when he stopped the clock at 29.31 and subsequently sold for £2900. Fastest of the day over 480m was Onward Upward clocking a fast 28.09 and the son of Ballymac Cashout sold for £7000.
The “Mags Of The Round Table” syndicate were very active on the day with a total of 6 purchases for good money, which will all join the Chloe Hardy kennels.
Nathan Corden said “It was a fantastic day and the track was in good condition despite all the poor weather recently. It was a shame to have to postpone last week and we were a few down today, however the business was very good. Our next sale is at Central Park on Wednesday 25th January.”
