There are a few new tracks on the schedule for next year including Perry Barr, Newcastle and Star Pelaw. In total there will be 8 sales in the UK, operated by Premier Greyhound Sales, kicking off with Perry Barr on Monday 27th January with the standout being the very popular sale at Monmore on Friday 16th May.
Nathan Corden of Premier Greyhound Sales said “I am very happy to welcome a few new tracks onto our schedule for 2025 and it will be exciting to see how they do. With the demand for greyhounds ever increasing by racing offices, I hope we can provide a good service for them and help them maintain their racing strengths. Owners and trainers are finding it harder to source greyhounds, so it is great to see the service we provide being appreciated by some tracks who are keen to accommodate sales.”
A major boost for buyers at the UK track sales in 2025 is that the fighter warranty period has been increased from 21 days to 28 days plus for any 14 months old puppy that new 28 days warranty will commence when they become 15 months old and are eligible to officially qualify.
Corden said “We have discussed this with our main vendors and they were unanimous in supporting the idea to give the buyer a little more protection. With the busy racing schedules as they are, I can appreciate it has been more difficult over the last year to qualify new greyhounds in as space for trials has been tight at the tracks.”
