A very wet and windy Monmore set the scene for the final sale of 2025 in the UK, but a good stock of Irish vendors braved the ferry and were rewarded with a very strong, as ever, Monmore Sale.
Business was brisk and just over £131,000 exchanged hands with top lot Rapido Dinny clocking the fastest of the day 28.74. The young July 24 whelp was sold for £13,000 and will join the Savva Roberts kennels.
Another notable sale was Droopys Paulina, who clocked 29.54 after early trouble. She eventually sold for £10,200 and will return to Ireland where the purchaser lives.
Overall, 45 of the 51 greyhounds presented for sale sold with nearly 60% remaining with Entain trainers proving their decision to pay the GBGB Bond for their owners was smart.
Nathan Corden said “Firstly, the team at Monmore deserve a huge amount of credit for providing a track in superb condition in challenging conditions. The sale was a great success and Monmore is always a good sale, so to end the year on a high is a very pleasing. We will now have a break and see what we want to do for 2026 – a big thank you to everyone who has supported the sales over the past few years.”
